Honestly, this is one verse I absolutely love. Many times, we get too familiar with God. He only becomes the person we run to when we need something.
By that, I mean how often do we thank God? A life of thankfulness is a happy life, It means choosing not to wear our worries on our faces. It means thanking God even in hard times. The first part of that verse says “in everything give thanks…” Not FOR everything but IN everything. If you had to make a list of things you are thankful for, they would exceed your worries. Learn to thank God IN all situations.
It is God’s will for us to be happy. Basing our thankfulness on our worries and cares will only make us sadder. The gift of Jesus alone gives us several reasons to be thankful.
Get a pen and paper, write down what you are thankful for and thank Him for each of them.
